On starting too late

I always wanted to paint and for years believed the door had closed. That art was for people who had begun as children, who had the right hands, the right teachers, the right amount of talent measured against everybody else.

What changed was not my hands. It was the idea of what a painting is for. It is not a proof of skill and not an entry in a competition. It is a record of one particular way of seeing the world, and nobody else has that one.

So I began. The site you are looking at is what came out of that decision.
